Our Philosophy

Rose to the Occasion is a public initiative founded in 2012 by enthusiastic

youth and working adults to strongly support charitable causes. Previously, in collaboration with Singapore Chef’s Association, our first launch raised an estimated of $60,000 for the Children’s Cancer Foundation. For 2015, our goal is to raise awareness and funds for HCA Hospice, to ensure the continuity of affordable hospice services and the possible expansion of outreach.

 

Our team firmly believes in the significant contribution of social start-ups, both informal and formal, which support charitable health-related causes by directly meeting the needs of responsible non-profit organizations registered in Singapore. By pushing forth with our own fund-raising events, we work towards inspiring benevolent start-ups similar to ourselves to achieve a snowball effect. We seek to collaborate with reputable restaurants and other organizations who are keenly supportive of our worthy cause and to achieve their corporate social responsibility objectives.

We are commited to organize events with a simple and considerate approach for corporate organizations to partner and the public to participate. We make it convenient to give without going out of the way to take a leap of faith to try the unfamiliar. That's why our events circle around familiar activities in our day-to-day goings, from sharing a good meal to experimenting in the kitchen for a new dish. And always, we promote a shared experience by bringing together your loved ones or more generally, people with a heart for charity.

 

Meaning of our logo

A red rose symbolizes many positive emotions, particularly love. The theme under “Rose to the Occasion” is “Indulgence with Love” which signifies a love for fine food dedicated to charity. The appreciation of fine gourmet has long been one of the most coveted pleasures of life. For the blessed who can afford to indulge, they are most earnest to contribute to an honorable cause, hence fulfilling the twin cause of helping the less fortunate and delighting one’s palate.

 

“Rose To The Occasion” is unique among past and existing charity dinner efforts in its proposed scale, duration and unique choice of culinary hotspots. Our events promise fulfilling gourmet experiences topped with a garnish of heart-warming goodness.
